Girard-Perregaux Laureato FIFTY: 50 Years of Reinvented Heritage

Fifty years after its debut, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato continues to define what refined sport-luxury design means. To celebrate this milestone, the Maison introduces the Laureato FIFTY, a limited edition of just 200 pieces that perfectly balances modern innovation with the timeless elegance of the original 1975 model.
A Visionary Spirit, 50 Years in the Making

First Generation Laureato 1975

Laureato FIFTY 81008-63-3412-1CM
Since its creation in 1975, the Laureato has stood out for its distinctive identity. The original combined an octagonal bezel, circular base, and tonneau-shaped case, all integrated into a bracelet—an architectural harmony that broke the rules of traditional design without discarding them.
The new Laureato FIFTY carries that same DNA into the present day. Its 39 mm case, crafted from steel and 3N yellow gold, pays homage to the first bicolour model, now reimagined with sharper edges, refined bevels, and seamless bracelet integration.
With alternating satin and polished finishes, the octagonal bezel plays beautifully with the light, while sapphire crystals on both sides reveal the precision within. Despite its elegance, the Laureato FIFTY remains impressively robust with 150 metres of water resistance—a rare feat for a watch of this style.
Refined Design and Modern Craftsmanship

The sunray grey dial is adorned with a Clous de Paris guilloché pattern, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. Matching 3N gold indexes and baton hands with luminescent accents provide perfect legibility. The date window at 3 o’clock integrates seamlessly into the design, maintaining the visual harmony Girard-Perregaux is known for.
Every detail reinforces the Laureato’s balance between aesthetics and ergonomics. The steel-and-gold bracelet tapers elegantly toward the clasp, adapting to the wrist with remarkable comfort. A discreet fine adjustment system within the clasp allows for a 4 mm micro-adjustment—ideal for changing conditions throughout the day.
A New Milestone: The Calibre GP4800

Through its sapphire caseback, the Laureato FIFTY reveals the new Calibre GP4800, a self-winding movement developed and produced entirely in-house. Containing 163 components and running at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it delivers a 55-hour power reserve.
The movement incorporates a silicon escapement and variable inertia balance, ensuring both precision and longevity. Its architecture draws inspiration from Girard-Perregaux’s emblematic Three Bridges, translating that design language into a more minimal and contemporary execution. Ten distinct finishes highlight the Maison’s craftsmanship, turning the movement into a visual work of art as much as a technical achievement.

A New Milestone: The Calibre GP4800

For five decades, the Laureato has embodied Girard-Perregaux’s vision of understated sophistication. Each generation has refined its design, improved comfort, and advanced its mechanics, all while remaining true to the spirit of the original 1975 model.
